Historical games in the museum park

Play your way through time

In the museum's park you are invited to fun and games, accross both age and time. Here you can try your 15 games from different time periods. The oldest date back to the Stone Age, some were populare in the Middle Ages, and then others date back to the 18th, 19th and 20th century.
Names and rules have changed with the years. You might have tried these games before, using other rules? They all still have one thing in common: they are all from a period where time passed slower than it does today. You could play wherever, without having to look out for cars, or arrange everything in a gymnazium.
The games were just as much for adults as they were for children, and were often played during parties and holidays. The goal was to trick each other, make a fool of one self, laugh, and especially have fun!

The park is a collaborative project between the Norwegian Children’s Museum and Stavanger School Museum.

The games are free and suitable for all ages.
